Performance of Communication Systems
Our group investigates the performance of communication systems using various modeling techniques. We focus on the analysis of network calculus and the effective bandwidth of communication systems and evaluate models and metrics to perform available bandwidth estimation. Regarding parallel systems, we are engaged in research in the field of parallel processing and multi-path protocols such as Multipath TCP (MPTCP) and Multipath QUIC (MPQUIC).

Networking
In the area of networking, we are particularly interested in Future Internet technologies, Cognitive Radio and wireless technologies, i.e. new communication standards such as 5G, also in the domain of Vehicular Cellular Networks. Another area of interest is cluster computing, which enables new scheduling and scaling techniques.

Car-2-X Communications
The research in the field of Car-2-X communication focuses on Cooperative Awareness and Collective Perception as well as Cooperative Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Platooning. With the increasing spread of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), coherent congestion control is becoming more and more important in Vehicular Adhoc Networks (VANet).
